Google Ad Auction
Essentially there are 3 parties involved in an Adwords campaign.
- Advertisers - Wants to show relevant ads that users will click on.
- Users - Wants to see relevant ads based on what they’re searching for.
- Google - Wants to create a good experience for the Users and the Advertisers so they will come back and use the service in the future.
The goal is to accommodate the interests of these 3 parties.

And if that guy is right, why do I pay the top bid amount when I am the only bidder on a keyword? Shouldn’t I pay one cent or something like that? Which never happens…

Hi Steve
Well I wanna play but when I am playing alone, why do I have to pay more than the minimum bid? What auction is that if I am the only bidder?
