Wow I logged on this morning and see SteveRenner.com is back to Page Rank 4 - Cool! My 6 months ago my Blog dropped to PR-2, after having a PR-4 for about a year. I couldn’t really understand why.

As an Professional Internet Marketer, someone who is well known in the Internet Marketing community, it was a little embarrassing for me, to have my friends, students, and clients show up at my site and it’s only a PR-2.

I heard you can contact the mighty Google, and plead your case and they may return the beloved PR Juice, but I never tried it. I considered the possible reasons my PR might have dropped:

Link Ratio - To Many Outgoing Links
Link Ratio - Not Enough Incoming Links
Duplicate Content
Not Enough Content
Do Follow - No Follow
Bad Linking Structure
Too Many 404 Error Pages
Etc, Etc, Etc…

And the list can go on and on… The Bottom Line is that it dropped, and that sucks. So I just shook it off and didn’t really worry about it. Page Rank really doesn’t have much to do with the amount of traffic you get or how your site is indexed by the search engines, it’s just a way to keep score, of how The Big Google perceives your site.

Google runs Page Rank updates quarterly, so I was hoping it would come back. Then in the last update, nothing happened. Even though I had posted a ton of good content to the site, it didn’t seem to help.

So I went on a linking campaign, and gathered quite a few incoming links:

2,000 + Google
5,000 + Yahoo
2,000 + All The Web

Then add a few thousand to this from MSN, AOL, and many of the smaller directories.

Alexa Ranking - Steverenner.com has a traffic rank of: 187,364

Thats up 74% in the last 3 months.

Steverenner.com users come from these countries:

United States - 57.8%

United Kingdom - 8.8%

India - 5.9%

Canada - 5.2%

Indonesia - 5.1%

Australia - 4.7%

Germany - 2.1%

Malaysia - 0.4%

Singapore - 0.4%

Mexico - 0.3%

Philippines - 0.2%

Thailand - 0.2%

Estonia - 0.1%

Other countries - 8.8%

It’s also interesting to see how I rank around the world.

Now when I check my Server Stats I see that I am averaging:

500 Unique Visitors A Day
3,000 Page Views A Day
Average 237 Seconds (around 4 minutes) on the site.

That means that people are actually reading my stuff. So this really shows you something, get good content on your site, and publish often and you will Generate Traffic, and increase your Page Rank!
